BEWASCO proudly announces the successful completion of Phase 2 of the Beledhawa Water Expansion Project. This significant milestone ensures the delivery of clean, safe, and reliable water directly to the homes of more than 200 families in Section 8 and the Bacaadweyn neighborhoods. The achievement reflects BEWASCO’s continued commitment to improving community welfare and expanding access to essential water services.
What Was Achieved
The project successfully delivered several key outcomes that enhance water access and sustainability in the targeted areas. A total of 8.5 kilometers of new water distribution pipelines were installed to expand the supply network. In addition, one new water storage tank with a capacity of 80 cubic meters was constructed to improve water availability and system reliability. The project also facilitated the connection of 210 households to the main water supply, ensuring direct access to clean and safe water. Furthermore, seven local technicians were trained to support ongoing maintenance and operational efficiency, strengthening the long-term sustainability of the system.
Community Impact
Before the implementation of this project, residents in these areas were forced to travel long distances to collect water, often spending several hours each day on this task. Today, clean and safe water is available directly in their homes, significantly improving daily life. This transformation has saved valuable time, reduced household expenses, and contributed to better health outcomes for families across the community.
