BEWASCO Expands Clean Water Network to New Neighborhoods in Beledhawa

Overview

BEWASCO is proud to announce the successful completion of Phase 2 of the Beledhawa Water Expansion Project. This milestone brings clean, safe, and reliable water directly to the homes of over 200 families in the section 8 and Bacaadweyn neighborhoods.

What Was Achieved

The project included the following key deliverables:

• Installation of 8.5 km of new water distribution pipes
• Construction of 1 new water storage tanks with a combined capacity of 80meter cubic 
• Connection of 210 residential households to the main supply network
• Training of 7 local technicians for maintenance and operations

Community Impact

Before this project, residents in these areas had to travel long distances to collect water, spending several hours each day on this task alone. Now, clean water is available directly at home ??? saving time, reducing costs, and improving health outcomes for entire families.
